Verlin: All rowers on the Russian team performed well at the Universiade

Coaching staff of the Russian national canoe sprint team is pleased with the results of all the athletes at the Universiade, said the head coach Sergey Verlin.

In canoe sprint, the Russians won 21 medals, including 10 gold.

“All the athletes were good. You cannot say that any one person did not perform. No one performed worse than planned. I would like to note the brilliant performance by Natasha Podolskaya. A classic, very technical victory. At the top is our doubles team Postrigay and Dyachenko. They have to improve their time, and I hope that they will achieve this in the future,” Verlin told reporters. He noted that the “rapid water” in the rowing canal, where the Universiade competitions are being held, contributed to higher results. “The water in the canal was fast. We must take note of this. The times in many races were faster. There were several finishes close to record times. This will make this canal interesting,” added the coach.
