Wrestling. Results of tournament

On July 16 the final day of the wrestling competitions concluded at the 27th World Summer University Games. The bouts took place in the Ak Bars Wrestling Palace.

Russia’s Nariman Israpilov became the victor of men’s the freestyle wrestling competition in the up to 55 kg weight category.  In the final contest he defeated Samat Nadyrbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan.  Japan’s Fumitaka Morishita and Kazakhsatan’s Berdakh Primbayev placed third.

Top place in the up to 66 kg men’s weight category belongs to the Russian Magomed Kurbanaliev.  In the final contest he triumphed over Devid Safaryan of Armenia.  Mongolia’s Mandakhnaran Ganzorig and Ukraine’s Semen Radulov became bronze medalists.

In the up to 84 kg men’s weight category gold went to the Romanian Gheorghita Stefan, silver – to Russia’s Shamil Kudiyamagomedov, third place – to Piotr Ianulov of Moldova and Mohammadhossein Mohammadian of Iran.

Turkey’s athlete Taha Akgul proved strongest in the up to 120 kg men’s weight category, after achieving victory over Ukraine’s Oleksandr Khostianivskyi.  Bronze medalists are Parviz Hadi Basmanj of Iran and Tyrell Fortune of the USA.

The up to 60 men’s weight category was topped by Russia’s Bekkhan Goygereev.  He won the contest with Iran’s athlete Behnam Ehsanpoor.  Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev and Ukraine’s Vasyl Shuptar share the third place.

In the up to 74 kg weight category first place went Denis Tcargush of Russia.  The Azerbaijani Jabrayil Hasanov received silver.  Zaur Efendiev of Serbia and David Taylor of the USA became bronze medalists.

Russia’s Abdulsalam Gadisov won the up to 96 kg men’s weight category by achieving victory over Ukraine’s athlete Pavlo Oliinyk in the final contest.  Bronze winners are Khuderbulga Dorjkhand of Mongolia and Alikhan Jumayev of Kazakhstan.

In the up to 48 kg women's weight category victory belongs to Eri Tosaka from Japan, who defeated Patimat Bagomedova of Azerbaijan in the final contest.  Bronze medals were taken by the Russian Valeriya Chepsarakova and Ukrainian Mariya Livach.

The golden medal in the up to 55 kg women's weight category was captured by Valeriia Koblova of Russia.  Iryna Husyak of Ukraine has taken the silver medal.  Bronze winners are Sun Byol Hwang of North Korea and Kanako Murata of Japan.

The Mongolian Battsetseg Soronzonbold was the strongest in the up to 63 kg women’s weight category.  The silver award went to the Russian Mariia Liulkova.  Azerbaijan’s Irina Netreba and Belorussia’s Maryia Mamashuk occupy the third place.

Ekaterina Bukina of Russia topped the up to 72 kg women's weight category.  Brittney Roberts of the USA won the silver medal.  Bronze went to Canada’s Erica Elizabeth Weibe and Galina Levchenko of Belorussia.

In the up to 51 kg women’s weight category victory went to Hikari Sugawara of Japan, second place – to the Mongolian athlete Sumiya Erdenechimeg, third – to Ukraine’s Blakhinya Yuliya and Russia’s Ekaterina Krasnova.

Gold in the up to 59 kg women’s weight category was captured by the Azerbaijani Yuliya Ratkevich, who defeated Allison Ragan of the USA in the final contest.  Bronze winners were Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan and Emese Barka of Hungary.

The golden medalist of the up to 67 kg women’s weight category is Sara Dosho of Japan.  Nasanburmaa Ochirbat of Mongolia won the silver medal.  Third place was taken by Stacie Jillian Anaka of Canada and Alina Stadnik of Ukraine.

The Greco-Roman wrestling competition in the up to 55 kg men’s weight category was won by Ivan Tatarinov of Russia.  Silver went to the Moldovan Victor Ciobanu.  Bronze medalists were Eldaniz Azizli  of Azerbaijan and Shota Tanokura of Japan.

In the up to 66 kg men’s weight category the Azerbaijani Rasul Chunayev came out the victor.  Second place went to Russia’s Islam-Beka Albiev.  Muhammet Kocatinaz of Turkey and Askhat Zhanbirov of Kazakhstan are the bronze winners of the Kazan Universiade.

Gold of the up to 84 kg men’s weight category went to Russia’s Alan Khugaev, after he overcame Armenia’s athlete Maksim Manukyan in the final contest.  Javid Hamzatau of Belorussia and Zhan Beleniuk of Ukraine gained bronze.

Riza Kayaalp of Turkey won the up to 120 kg men’s weight category.  Silver belongs to Iran's Amir Aliakbari.  Kazakhstan’s Nurmakhan Tinaliyev and Hungary’s Balint Lam placed third.

The up to 60 kg men’s weight category was won by Ivan Kuylakov of Russia.  Kamran Mammadov of Azerbaijan became the silver medalist.  Bronze winners were Kazakhstan’s Almat Kebispayev and Georgia’s Tornike Turkishvili.

The Russian Roman Vlasov topped the up to 74 kg men's weight category after winning the final contest with the Iranian Hadi Alizadehpournia.  Dmytro Pyshkow of Ukraine and Arsen Julfalakyan of Armeia took third place.

In the up to 96 kg men’s weight category victory went to the Russian Nikita Melnikov.  The Armenian Artur Aleksanyan placed second.  Bronze medalists are Mikheil Kajaia of Georgia and Mahdi Aliyarifeizabadi of Iran.

Altogether, there were 21 medal sets awarded in the framework of wrestling competitions at the Kazan Universiade.  The Russian national team took first place in the medal count in wrestling, winning 17 medals of which 12 are gold.  The Japanese national team placed second.  It garnered six medals, three of them gold.  The Azerbaijani team is on the third place with eight medals, two of them gold.
