The national basketball team of Russia gained a victory over Australia's team in the final match at the Universiade tournament and won gold medals at the University Games. The game that took place on Tuesday in Kazan ended with a score of 81:74 in favour of the team of Vasily Karasev. Zubkov became the most resultative player of the game, having scored 19 points in 27 minutes, with 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot.

“The last second is the most memorable moment. It was then that we understood that we had won. Not shots or anything else. It is important that we have won. It’s no matter how many points I scored. Of course, I was willing to rehabilitate myself for the previous games, when I missed. However, only the team's victory is what matters. I am very happy,” said Zubkov to the R-Sport agency. The player noted that he was amazed with the spectator support. “The spectators, of course, helped us. I would like to thank them for their support,” he added.
