Karabutov: Poor conversion of chances betrayed the water polo team of the Russian Federation in the Universiade final

The reason for the defeat of the Russian national team in the final of the water polo tournament at the Universiade is a low level of implementation of the dangerous moments, said the head coach of the national team Vladimir Karabutov.

The Russian men's team lost to the Hungarians with a score of 4:5 in the final match at the Universiade.

“The players were determined to win, but we did not manage the front play: we created brilliant chances, but we did not convert them. The Hungarians used our mistakes, they punished us as many times as we were mistaken,"  told Karabutov the reporters of R-Sport. “Yes, they committed more errors than we do, but we were not able to realize these moments,” he added.

Earlier, the Russian women's team also played in the final against Hungary and won the gold medal of the World University Games.
