Rowing athlete Peschel knew he’s able to win at Universiade in Kazan

The 27th Summer Universiade champion Julius Peschel, who is member of the rowing national team of Germany, said that he was confident of his winning in Kazan.

Peschel finished first in the 2000 metre men’s lightweight single sculls final showing the best result 7 minutes 24.07 seconds.

“The heat was a bit hard because of the wind. I realised I’m in good form and I should win in the final. Sure, at the end of the heat I had to meet some difficulties since the Pole opponent tried to reduce the gap. However, I had won the semi-final heat and I knew that I’m able to win again in the decisive heat,” said Peschel, according to the R-Sport agency.

At the Universiade rowing competition, held between July 6 and July 8, 13 sets of medals were awarded.
