Boxer Omarov names the final the hardest fight of Universiade

The final fight against the Kazakhstani boxer was the hardest at the Kazan Summer Universiade 2013, stated to the journalists the winner of the tournament, the Russian super heavyweight Magomed Omarov (+91kg weight category).

The 2011 European champion, 2012 Olympian Omarov defeated the Kazakhstani Zhan Kossobutskiy in the decisive battle.  “The hardest fight for me in Kazan was the final one,” R-Sport quotes Omarov.  “I had a very serious and good opponent – I’ve never met him before, just watched the last two rounds of his semifinal bout yesterday.  He is a fast boxer, who was advancing all the time today.”

The winner of the tournament noted, that he is “only half-pleased” with his performance in the final encounter.  “I was able to do some things, but not others,” Omarov went on.  “Am I planning to become a professional?  Time will tell, but before that I have to win something serious at the amateur level.”
