Boxer Gaibnazarov fails to understand his defeat at Universiade final

The Uzbek boxer Fazliddin Gaibnazarov could not explain why he was defeated at the Universiade final (60 kg weight category)

On Wednesday Gaibnazarov took the silver medal at the Universiade, losing to Russia’s Adlan Abdurashidov. “I can’t explain why I lost today,” Gaibnazarov told R-Sport. “I had three good fights on the way to the final, and today it seemed like everything worked out. I definitely know I won in the third round, but the judges gave it to the Russian.”

The athlete noted that he did not expect the tournament in Kazan "to be so well organized”.

Another representative of Uzbekistan, Jasurbek Latipov (52 kg weight category) stressed that he was “pleased with the bronze medal”. “I fought on Tuesday in the semi-final with a good strong boxer from Mongolia (Iderkhuu Enkhjargal), and I was unable to achieve all that I planned (at the final on Wednesday the Mongolian boxer beat the well-known Russian boxer Misha Aloian)”, the athlete said.
