On Wednesday, Abdurashidov gained the victory in the final -60 kg competition and won the title of Universiade champion.

“I liked the Universiade Village and its atmosphere very much," Abdurashidov said. "We are constantly communicating with the athletes competing in other sports. And the thought about those young athletes who did not take part in the Universiade and did not experience these unique feelings make me upset. Most frequently, I meet with weightlifters, among which there are my compatriots from Chechnya. They are Apti Aukhadov, silver medallist at the Olympic Games, who almost reached the victory, and Magomed Abuev, super weightlifter, world champion among young people. Apti will compete on Thursday and I want to support him if I have time. Magomed will take part in the competition on Friday”.

The boxer also noted that the victory at the Universiade is for him higher than the second place he took in 2012 in the World Series Boxing (WSB) individual final. “No matter what kind of tournaments it is, Universiade or WSB, the second place is equivalent for me to defeat," R-Sport quotes Abdurashidov. "And although in my opinion and in all experts’ opinion, I won the final fight, I was not placed first because of backdoor intrigues. And I try myself best to forget that competition. The second place triggered only bad emotions, while the victory at the Universiade evokes absolutely different feelings”.
