Russian weightlifter Kashirina wins the gold medal at the Universiade with a record.

Weightlifting competitions took place on July 11th at the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan.

Weightlifter for Team Russia Tatiana Kashirina won the gold medal at the Universiade in the over 75kg weight class. In her two event total, the silver medalist in the 2012 Olympics lifted 319kg (142+177). The Russian has set 3 new Universiade records (total result, clean and jerk, and snatch). In both events she participated last and performed all six approaches.

The silver medal went to Chitchanok Pulsabsakul from Thailand with a combined weight of 278kg (125+153). The bronze medal went to South Korean weightlifter Lee Huisol with a weight of 268kg (120+148). Kashirina's gold became Team Russia's 4th gold in weightlifting at the Universiade. The earlier golds were won by Oxana Slivenko, Olga Zybova, and Apti Aukhadov.
