In the semifinal, the Russian athletes defeated the Canadian duo Melissa Humana-Paredes/Taylor Pischke 2-0 (21:18, 21:19). "The game was very emotional, hard and persistent, but we coped and got through to the final. We need to have a bit of rest now and then play our best in the decisive match. It will be the hardest to play in the final," said Khomiakova after the match.

All through the match, the rivals alternately led in the game and did not let each other to pull away. "The fight turned out to be so intense through a lot of factors. Our rivals, in principle, were quite good. They did good serves, and they didn't make many mistakes. It was windy, that's why you could expect anything during the serves. I am so pleased that we have won," said the athlete.

In the final, the Russian athletes will play the winner in the match Chantal Laboureur/Julia Katharina Sude (Germany) - Monika Brzostek/Kinga Kolosinska (Poland).
