Avtoradio is the leading radio station of the ProfMedia Broadcasting Corporation (PMBC), one of the largest companies engaged in network radio broadcasting in Russia. In 2013, the company marked its 20th anniversary.
Over 1,300 cities of Russia and CIS countries fall into the area successfully covered by Avtoradio.
The company builds its broadcasting policy based on the contacts with a wide audience by getting first-hand information. The information is provided by traffic police, representatives of the authorities, road transport journalists, drivers and other road users.
Avtoradio airs music which millions of Russians love and listen to, and it also produces popular programmes featuring famous personalities, including one of country’s top radio shows, Murzilki Live, which has received multiple Radiomania awards in the Best Morning Show category (2003, 2004, 2005, 2010, 2011). It is already the twelfth year that Avtoradio has been holding its own music festival, titled ‘Disco of the 80s’,which has featured virtually all music legends over these years.
There is not such a major sports event that would do without Avtoradio being actively involved. In February 2010, the radio station broadcast from Vancouver, the host city of the 21st Winter Olympic Games, whilst in summer 2012, the company worked at the Olympic Games in London.
As part of the Avtoradio Brigades campaign, in summer 2011, the radio station's listeners visited Sochi, the host city of the future Olympic Games, where they took an active part in the main construction project of the country.
The company takes pride in the fact that it is a repeat holder of the Golden Microphone awards. Moreover, it is the first Russian station that has been officially recognised by the international radio community. In 2005, the station was awarded the prestigious NAB 2005 International Broadcasting Excellence Award.
