The online application to become a Kazan 2013 volunteer was officially opened on September 20, 2011, on the day of the Volunteers' Academy International Youth Volunteer Camp opening. If you wish to apply for a volunteering role, then go to makeureal.kazan2013.ru.

Interesting facts about Kazan 2013 volunteers

1) Zufar Iskhakov from Zheleznogorsk, Kursk Region turned 78 on January 14, 2012. He's the oldest applicant to be a Kazan 2013 volunteer. In the mid-1950s he studied at the All-Union Extramural Polytechnic Institute in Moscow, and today he dreams to meet coaches and athletes from various countries and to gain a unique volunteer experience becoming part of the global sporting event.

2) Piotrowski Helder, a volunteer applicant from Brazil, will have to cover 12,850 kilometres to come to Kazan for the 2013 Summer Universiade.

3) Elmira Gadbullina from Nabarezhnye Chelny is an absolute champion in the number of languages she can speak; Elmira knows seven languages: Russian, Tatar, English, French, German, Chinese, Turkish and Japanese.
